Interview with Marc Lee
Marc Lee is concerned with how information technologies influence our understanding of the world and how they profoundly change our social behavior. In particular, he explores the emergence of the World Wide Web and subsequently the development of social networks as well as the associated flow of data. In his immersive and interactive installations, he submerges us in the social media flood of images. New works revolve around the theme of biology, the human body and our relationship with nature.
In the interview, he discusses his work process and current works that deal with TikTok, the pollution of the oceans as well as the extinction of species.
The interview was conducted during the ” Swiss Media Art: Marc Lee, Chloé Delarue, Laurent Güdel – Pax Art Awards 2021″ exhibition (12.02.-24.04.2022) by our curator Boris Magrini. This exhibition showcases the works of the winners of the Pax Art Awards 2021, where Marc Lee received the main prize.
